When your larynx gets inflamed, it can cause you to have loud aural snorts or sounds that are not pleasant at all. Laryngitis can cause a lot of pain in the neck area and even cause the larynx to collapse. This can make the patient unable to breathe properly and lead to suffocation. Laryngitis can affect the soft tissue around your neck and throat, which will make it difficult to swallow or breathe through the mouth.

In the larynx, there are the vocal chords – two layers of cartilage and mucous tissue covering muscle and tendons. Typically, the vocal chords open and close comfortably, producing audible sounds through their vibration and movement. However, with laryngitis there is inflammation or irritation in the vocal chords which causes them to swell or become inflamed.

Common symptoms of laryngitis include coughing, hoarseness or wheezing, or an unusual sound coming from the throat or voice. Other symptoms include ear pain, swelling of the face and neck, difficulty swallowing, breathing through the mouth, and headaches.

Because the throat and voice are so vital to your health, it is important to diagnose laryngitis as soon as possible. The sooner you are diagnosed, the more effective the treatment will be. Some of the early signs of laryngitis include a runny nose or coughing. You may also experience a sore throat – Sakit Tenggorokan and ear pain. If the infection has spread to the tonsils, adenoids or uvula it may become difficult to speak or swallow and this may need treatment as well.

In more severe cases of laryngitis it is important to seek medical attention. Your physician can perform an x-ray to check for obstruction and a CT scan to look for cancer. The most common treatment for laryngitis is antibiotics and steroids. Steroids are used to reduce inflammation and swelling and relieve pain. Antibiotics are also used to kill the bacteria that causes the infection.

Some patients are given nasal steroid sprays to clear the mucus out of the airways so that they can breathe easier. If you have a severe case of laryngitis, it may be necessary to have surgery to drain the infected mucus out of the airways. The laryngeal sphincter muscle is often used to open up the airway. There are different types of surgery to remove the sphincter including open approach, ballooning and radioligation. In some cases it may be necessary to remove part of the laryngeal sphincter where it joins the diaphragm and the uvula in order to open up the airway.

Some medications used for treatment of laryngitis are nasal steroid sprays such as prednisone. If the infection has spread to the throat and is causing a choking sensation, you may need to receive a decongestant to help you breath. The decongestant is used to help you breathe while the infection is being treated. Some oral medicines may be used for relief of the pain and discomfort, especially if the pain is caused by an infection that is causing your throat to swell and harden up.

Treatment options vary depending on the location of the infection. Most doctors will recommend a combination of both oral and nasal steroid treatment. You will also need to find out the cause of the infection and the appropriate course of treatment. The most important thing to remember is that treatment can take a few weeks or months before any improvements are noticeable.

You will want to make sure that you follow all instructions provided with your medication, as well as make sure that you exercise regularly to reduce the inflammation. A diet that is high in fiber and fluid is very important to help the treatment progress.

Many people find relief by using a warm water bath. Taking a cold shower is also a good way to get rid of the symptoms. Taking your medication correctly and resting is vital in treating the condition.

If you continue to have the symptoms, it is best to contact a doctor immediately to make sure that it doesn't get worse. Once you have a diagnosis, you may find that there are several different treatments to choose from.
